The Center for the Study of Race, Politics and Culture is committed to establishing a new type of research institute devoted to the study of race and ethnicity that seeks to expand the study of race beyond the black/white paradigm while exploring social and identity cleavages within racialized communities.

Reading Racial Conflict and Race and Capitalism are two essay series curated by SSRC Items with guidance from Michael Dawson and Megan Ming Francis. Series contributors examine racial tensions and demands for racial justice through classic texts in the political economy of race. Race and Capitalism is the second and most recent series that Dawson and Francis have edited for Items.

The Washington Institute for the Study of Inequality and Race (WISIR) is an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to bringing the tools of critical theory and contemporary social science to the analysis of social, economic, and political inequality along lines of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and class.

The Robert L. Heilbroner Center for Capitalism Studies at the New School is a hub for interdisciplinary scholarship and applied research on issues relating to contemporary forms of capitalism.
